Are you ready to acknowledge the deep level of fatigue that has settled into your body? You have run hither and thither; you have done this and that; you have been responsible and responsive. You have, on more than one occasion, overdrawn on your reserves. You have no more to give; there is nothing else you can do at this moment. You are bone weary. You are completely empty.
Allow yourself to surrender into the deep, deep level of fatigue that you are feeling. Give yourself permission to imagine that you are in a beautiful forest filled with sunlit greenery. There is a canopy of tree branches overhead that filters the soft light. The ground is covered with spongy pine needles. You can hear the call of the birds, the distant sound of a waterfall and the skittering of rabbits and squirrels as they tunnel under fallen leaves. You see yourself walking through this landscape. As you walk, you allow all of your body’s tension to slip away. With every exhalation, you let go of even more.
When you are ready, you find the perfect spot to stop and take in the scenery. As you settle yourself comfortably, you take this time to recognize how much you have been pushing yourself. Your Smarter Self knows better, but circumstances, history, patterns and the like have led you into a state of chronic busyness. This has allowed little room for reflection, much less time to grasp the personal cost of such non-stop demands.
Today, give yourself permission to rest.
