Happy Year of the Horse

2014 horseHappy Chinese New Year. It is the Year of the Horse. I expect we  all will be galloping forward in 2014. We, also, have a powerful new moon, which offers cosmic support and good juju for creating anew.

If you are someone who is into  intentions or, in my language, crystallizing your thoughts into how and where you want to direct your energy, you might consider writing down a few intentional thoughts for 2014.  It’s a good way of planting and rooting your energetic focus.

Take the good energies of the Chinese New Year and new moon and get clear on how you choose to use your cosmic backpack of talents, experiences, medicine, widsom, and wherewithal. This can’t hurt and there is always increased personal power (and confidence) when we know what we think and what we feel and how we want to direct our lives.

Ready?

Good.

Today, or over the next few days:

-Choose your focus.

-Feel your focus.

-Refine, if necessary, embrace, and claim your 2014 seeds of attention.

-Plant your seeds of attention and intention within your heart.

Easy enough and, surprisingly, these focused energies can have a substantive impact on our lives.  When we get conscious, focused, in touch with our feelings, and seriously direct our energies towards our intended actions and ways of being, good things unfold.

And may it be so.

PS. Anybody up for spring rolls?

Ah, and may we gallop indeed–to green pastures and new shoots and learning, to plentiful satisfaction, over boulders and obstacles, to clear vistas and good company, to a place of playful trots and serious understanding.

    PS I’m more a steamed dumpling kind’a gal…

Dear Penguin and Adele (Addressing you here upside down…)–

This sounds mundane, but I am big on lists. They help me focus. They set down my intentions. I am rarely able to cross off everything on my lists, and if I come up with something new, I write it on my list just so I can cross it off. There’s satisfaction in that.

A deeper intention may be this: I have become fierce about protecting my focus. It’s too easy for me to get distracted — I understand that about me. And, sometimes I have to sound a little less than polite when I am being forced to guard my time. That’s all right. I don’t want to be pushed from my focus, but, at this stage of the game, I am willing to push back.

So, yes, focus. Create intentions. Toss the old luggage that doesn’t work out the window. And then be willing to get fierce about protecting the space/time/whatever I need to make my intentions a reality!

    Happy New Year to you!
