Balance is a difficult space to inhabit and even more difficult to sustain given our fast-past, Tilt-a-Whirl world and the demands we continuously place on ourselves and others expect from us. Balance is frequently pushed aside, forgotten or a long-lost promise to ourselves.
Balance is that elusive, much sought-after place of equilibrium where we find ourselves buoyant and afloat. In that expanded space, balance enhances our abilities to be responsive, patient, kind and generous.
Curiously, when we identify what brings us balance (and its tag-along friends, peace and ease), we are often on the same trajectories that keep us grounded as well as feed our souls.
Finding balance is fighting the good fight on behalf of ourselves. Like the Buddha suggested, everything is moderation. Balance is an excellent by-word for our lifestyle, time and nutrition choices. Not only is balance a major nod to our well-being and health. Balance is also serves as an act of self-care and self-love.
And the icing on the cake is that the more balanced we are, the more compassionate we can be. Balance, the deep-breath-filled place of evenness and neutrality, aids in our efforts to be our Best Selves. How sweet is that?
Balance is as a portal of equilibrium. Balance avoids extremes, those up and down dips and wild swings that can leave us gasping. Balance is flexible. Balance knows how to bends its knees, probably meditates or, at the very least, spends some time in nature or playing with puppies.
Hello, Balance, our old friend. It is time for us to meet again….
