We’re doing the yes’s, not the no’s, this year

It’s been a rough and tumble time in our upside-down world. In fact, it can be downright scary. The idea of curling up into a fetal position and streaming non-stop episodes of something mind-numbing and distracting is more than appealing. Somebody have the popcorn?

We would all agree that the energies have been chaotic and our humors and moods have reflected same. In short, yikes!

I propose that we emphasize the positive. We each contribute our small slivers, spirals and triangles of light. Each bit of light, in all of it high-vibratory wonderfulness, contributes to the whole. As with anything, we build it bit by bit, step-by-step.

At this time, we choose to do these light-building endeavors with joy, an open heart and being in the moment. In other words, there are no expectations. However, there is the knowing that you are building up what I like to call your “grace bank account.” And it is ever so wonderful when we are unexpectedly graced or saved by a serendipitous payout from that self-same grace bank account.

We say yes to extending a hand, proffering a kind word and zipping our lips when we are bursting with urgency to share some snippy-snappy bon mot.

We say yes to finally taking those first faltering baby step towards something that makes us happy and lights us up.

We say yes to radical self-care. Clearly, we can’t be sparkly if we are run down and belly dragging ourselves through the muck of life. The well does need to be refilled. Everyone counts, and that includes you.

We say yes to intentionally and mindfully choosing gratitude. Those three moments that made you grateful during the day are a wonderful habit as your head hits the pillow — and this habit positively impacts your neuro-chemistry as well.

We say yes to truth, compassion, justice, equal rights, education, fair play, honesty, integrity, giving a second chance and, even, a third chance.

We say yes to forgiveness, allowing otherness, expansive thinking, healing Mother Earth, honoring the elements, prayer, ritual, meditation, good juju, loving benedictions, beauty, order and sharing the chocolate.

We say yes to recycling, repurposing, realigning our actions with our values, daring to stand up for the underdog, water for the thirsty, food for the hungry, taking care of our veterans, doing our damn best for all children and understanding that we are all one. Period. No ifs, ands or but’s. We are one, bobbling blue-green sphere in a multiverse.

No one needs to be put down, excluded or forgotten. We are all in this together. And as simple as it may sound, building the geometry of light is as important as it gets. This light building can tip the balance in favor of what resonates deeply with in each of our hearts for the benefit and welfare of all sentient beings.

Wonderful advice, Adele! Everything starts with our attitude and resolve. We can choose to multiply goodness.
